Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India.

  • To engage the faculty and students of Higher Educational Institution in understanding Rural realities.
  • To leverage the knowledge base of the institutions to devise processes for effective implementation of various government programmes,

BLDE (Deemed to be University) Vijayapura was selected by MHRD, Govt of India as a Participating Institute (AISHE code U0214) to participate in the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in the month of April 2018
Dr. Praveen Ganganahalli, Nodal Officer UBA – Attended Orientation Program for UBA at AICTE New Delhi, on 25th April 2018.
June 2018 – Got permission from Deputy Commissioner of Vijayapura district to enroll five villages under UBA by BLDE(DU).

January 2021 – Free General Health Check-Up Camp

We the members of the Social & Industry Connect Committee organized Free General Health Check-up camp (Multi-specialty camp) in the RHTC Ukkali on 21st January 2021 (Thursday) from 09.00 am to 04.00 pm. All the five villages (Ukkali, Deginal, Donur, Yembhatnal, Hegadihal) enrolled under ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’were the target areas for the camp.

February 2021 – World Cancer Day

Social & Industry Connect Committee organized a Guest talk on the eve of ‘World Cancer Day’ for PUC students of BLDE PU College Ukkali on 6th February 2021 (Saturday) at 11 am in collaboration with RHTC Ukkali, Dept of Community Medicine & Dept of General Surgery.

Dr. Shailesh Kannur, Fellow in Surgical Oncology, Assistant Professor of Dept of General Surgery, had given a nice talk on the topic, Cancer – ‘Prevention is Better Than Cure’ to the audience where he briefed about the various types of cancers, their causes, importance of early detection and preventive measures.

January 2019 NCD CLINIC (Non-Communicable Disease – Screening, Treatment & Follow-up clinic) was started at RHTC Ukkali in January 2019 on every Monday

6th February 2019 – NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SCREENING CAMP was organized at Donor village selected under UBA by the team headed by Dr. Praveen G, Asst Prof Community Medicine

17th May 2019 – NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SCREENING CAMP was organized at Hegadihal village selected under UBA by the team headed by Dr. Praveen G, Asst Prof Community Medicine

24th June 2019 – NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SCREENING CAMP was organized at Ukkali village selected under UBA by the team headed by Dr. Praveen G, Asst Prof Community Medicine

5th October 2018 – NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SCREENING CAMP was organized at Deginal village selected under UBA by the team headed by Dr. Praveen G, Asst Prof Community Medicine

15th August 2018 – Gram Sabha conducted in the village Ukkali & Hegadihal on Independence day to give orientation to villagers about UBA by Dr. Praveen G, Mr Doddihal (Health educator) & Mr Sanjeev RK (MSW).

July 2018 – Village survey & Household survey done using the standard proforma given by UBA by team headed by Dr. Praveen G in all five selected villages of UBA.

28th November 2018 – NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASE SCREENING CAMP was organized at Yambathnal village selected under UBA by the team headed by Dr. Praveen G, Asst Prof Community Medicine

The display of UBA banner prominently in the institutes premises, A banner in English & Hindi language was displayed in the digital display of the campus (in front of BLDE University building) and a Banner in Kannada language was displayed in the RHTC Ukkali.

COVID19 Awareness session among the patients attending the OPD of RHTC Ukkali regarding wearing of mask, social distancing and myths regarding spread of COVID19.
