Welcome to the BLDE Deemed to be University

Our University is a destination where young minds with varied background and cultures grow up into responsible doctors who are true professionals with strong ethical and social values.

This premier institution was established in 1986 by the sponsoring Society BLDE Association with a sole intent of providing quality health education to the students of this area and affordable quality health care to the needy, when access to the secondary and tertiary health care in this part of Karnataka was a challenge. This is one among the very few medical colleges to have its own hospital from its inception. Over the years, our Institution is recognized for its excellent infrastructure, strong values, good teaching- learning practices and extensive health related outreach activities and services. Alumni of this college have carved a niche among the medical fraternity and have reached great heights in their careers. Many are serving the society at various levels within India and all over the globe.

The strong student centred curriculum with variety of innovative teaching learning methods trains the students to be excellent physicians. Their progression to higher education is reflected in their excellent performance in variety of competitive examinations like NEET-PG,NEET  SS, DNB, Fellow ships and  post-doctoral training programs within India and all over the globe. Excellent learning facilities like good clinical material, library, skills centre, advanced research and innovation centres backed by dedicated faculty are the strengths to beckon with. Adequate student support for their academics, research, co-curricular and extra- curricular activities, mental and physical health are reflected in the quality of our students who excel in various fields. The end-product of education should be a free creative man, who can battle against historical circumstances and adversities of nature.

The main function of a university is not to grant degrees and diplomas but to develop the university spirit and advance learning. …
