Vruksha Bandhan
Vruksha Bandhan is an environmental green initiative promoting the importance of trees and ecological balance. This unique event induces inspiration from the traditional Indian festival of Raksha Bandhan, where siblings tie a sacred thread, or “Rakhi,” symbolizing protection and care. Accordingly, in Vruksha Bandhan, the concept is extended to trees, symbolizing the commitment to protect and nurture them. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, dated 19th August 2024, the NSS Unit &
IQAC jointly celebrated Vruksha Bandhan from 11.00 am onwards. The staff members & students of BLDE (DU) celebrated Vruksha Bandhan by tying a Rakhi to trees. The
event raised and strengthened the familial bond with green family members. By linking the protection of trees with the emotional significance of Raksha Bandhan, the event has successfully inspired individuals to take tangible steps toward preserving the natural world for future generations.
