Anti Ragging Day 2024
The anti-ragging committee had organized an awareness talk on ragging for the students of School of Physiotherapy of BLDE Deemed to be University, Vijayapura. The program was organized on 13th August 2024 between 10:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. In the lecture hall number one. Dr. Hemanth Kumar Lecturer welcomed the gathering. Dr Anand P. Ambali, Dean Student Affairs and Nodal Officer for anti-ragging committee discussed issues concerned to ragging and the punishment that is that is mentioned by UGC
guidelines. A video regarding ragging released by UGC was shown to all the participants Dr. Basavaraj G. Chandu, Principal of School of Physiotherapy presided over the function and informed the students to follow discipline in campus. Vruksha Bandhan
Vruksha Bandhan is an environmental green initiative promoting the importance of trees and ecological balance. This unique event induces inspiration from the traditional Indian festival of Raksha Bandhan, where siblings tie a sacred thread, or “Rakhi,” symbolizing protection and care. Accordingly, in Vruksha Bandhan, the concept is extended to trees, symbolizing the commitment to protect and nurture them. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, dated 19th August 2024, the NSS Unit &
IQAC jointly celebrated Vruksha Bandhan from 11.00 am onwards. The staff members & students of BLDE (DU) celebrated Vruksha Bandhan by tying a Rakhi to trees. The
event raised and strengthened the familial bond with green family members. By linking the protection of trees with the emotional significance of Raksha Bandhan, the event has successfully inspired individuals to take tangible steps toward preserving the natural world for future generations. Drawing Competition - World No Tobacco Day
On the eve of World No-Tobacco Day dated 31st May 2024, a drawing competition was organized by the Department of Cardiac Care Technology in the Anatomy Gallery hall of Shri. B. M. Patil, Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. The theme for World No-Tobacco Day 2024 is “Protecting children from tobacco industry interference”. The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle, especially among children and young adults. Mr. Akshay Hiremath was the event coordinator and fourteen students participated in the event with enthusiasm and drew beautifully conveying important messages about the importance of saying no to tobacco and embracing a healthier way of life. The judges of the competition were Dr. Jyothi Patil & Dr. Ashwini Nuchhi.

Catalyst - What Next?
To make aware of the various career opportunities that exist beyond clinical practice and to introduce a wide range of options such as specializing in different medical fields, coupled with guiding the educational and professional paths that align with their aspirations, a unique event Catalyst – What Next? was organized for the interns (MBBS – 2018 Batch students) by the Career Counselling Cell of BLDE(Deemed to be University), Vijayapura on 28th March 2024 at Lecture Hall, 4th Floor of Skill lab from 10.00 am onwards. The event was planned well considering the vital vitamins needed for an Intern to prosper in his/her future endeavors. The event was lined up with seven interactive sessions & discussions from intellectuals across the country who have excelled in the field of Medicine.

“Skill Development Program (SDP)” - Feb 2024
To raise the consciousness of Soft Skills among non-teaching staff members (exclusively only SDAs) at the workplace, a Skill Development Program (SDP) was organized by IQAC on 23rd January 2024, Tuesday at the Academic Council hall of the University Administrative building. There were Forty-Three participants in the Skill Development Program. Dr. Lata Mullur, IQAC Director, welcomed the participants and highlighted the need for Skill Development Programs. Dr. Siddaling Talikoti, being the resource person for the technical session, emphasized on the following contents,
1. What are Soft Skills?
2. The benefits of Soft Skills in the workplace.
3. How do soft skills work?
4. Types of Soft Skills with illustrations.
5. Terminating elements of soft skills?
