As part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 campaign of the Election Commission of India, the BLDE (Deemed to be University) Electoral Literacy Club (ELC), in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine, organized a series of voter awareness activities at the University, Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), and Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) levels under the campaign theme “No Eligible Electors to be Left Behind.”
At the University level, the BLDE (DU) Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) conducted an online awareness campaign through dissemination of SIR-related information via the University’s official email and Instagram platforms. Informative posters, images, and key messages highlighting the SIR schedule, voter registration, verification of electoral details, and the process for filing claims and objections were shared among students, faculty, and staff, encouraging them to verify their electoral details and actively participate in the electoral revision process.
At the Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC), Ukkali, the BLDE (DU) ELC, in collaboration with the Gram Panchayat, organized a community awareness programme. Information regarding voter enrolment, correction of electoral details, the role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and the importance of participating in the Special Intensive Revision was disseminated to villagers. Community members were encouraged to cooperate during the house-to-house verification process and ensure that no eligible voter was left out of the electoral roll.
At the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC), voter awareness activities were conducted in the market area near the health centre. Members of the BLDE (DU) ELC, along with faculty and students, interacted with shopkeepers, local residents, and the general public and Information regarding voter enrolment, correction of electoral details, the role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and the importance of participating in the Special Intensive Revision was disseminated. These awareness activities significantly contributed to increasing public awareness regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, promoting informed participation in the electoral process and reinforcing the commitment of the BLDE (Deemed to be University) Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) towards fostering an inclusive, accessible, accurate, and participative democracy.
