To honor the invaluable service and dedication of medical professionals, the IQAC celebrated National Doctors’ Day on 1st July 2026 at the Lecture Hall, Skills Lab building from 4.00 pm onwards. The program commenced with a welcome Speech by Dr. Sumanagala Patil, Director IQAC. Madam also spoke on the importance of National Doctors Day, remembering the contributions of Dr. B. C. Roy. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Suresh P. Guggarigoudar, former Principal, Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura.
The highlight of the event was the address by the Chief Guest on the theme “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?”. Sir also addressed on “Sustainable Health Care for Professionals.” Sir emphasized the importance of integrating sustainability into healthcare practices while ensuring quality patient care. The speech focused on the role of healthcare professionals in promoting environmentally responsible practices, reducing medical waste, conserving resources, and adopting innovative technologies that support sustainable healthcare systems.
Sir also highlighted the significance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13: Climate Action.
The presidential remarks were by Prof. Dr. Y. M. Jayaraj Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor BLDE(DU). Sir explained the theme of National Doctors Day by citing some stories. The celebration also included felicitation of Chief guest & doctors for their dedicated service. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, by Dr. Manjula Deputy Coordinator IQAC.
