BLDE (Deemed to be University) School of Law, Vijayapura, organized an Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the 3-year LL.B. and 5-year B.A. LL.B. programmes for the academic year 2026–27 on 24th September 2026 at the Auditorium, Central Library, BLDE (Deemed to be University), Vijayapura.
The programme commenced on a patriotic note with the National Anthem. Prof. Dr. R. G. Kulkarni, Dean & Principal, BLDE (Deemed to be University) School of Law, Vijayapura, delivered the welcome address and provided an insightful overview of legal education, highlighting the academic culture, values, and institutional excellence of the University.
Sri Abdul Rahiman Nandgadi, II Additional District and Sessions Judge, Vijayapura, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he described law as one of the most dynamic disciplines in the world and emphasized its wide scope and relevance to everyday life. Reflecting on the purpose of legal education, he remarked, “We arrive and depart this world with nothing, yet in between, we strive for material possessions. As students of law, your true pursuit must always be the quest for justice.”
Following the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Y. M. Jayaraj, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor, BLDE (Deemed to be University), Vijayapura, delivered the Presidential Address. He spoke on the significance of experiential learning and emphasized the importance of human creativity alongside Artificial Intelligence. He also highlighted the vital role of common sense, presence of mind, and practical understanding in the effective practice of law.
The programme was anchored by Ms. Suhana Ferdauz Laskar, Assistant Professor, BLDE (Deemed to be University) School of Law, Vijayapura. Mrs. Lavanya Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, introduced the Chief Guest, while Dr. F. S. Patil, Associate Professor, delivered the formal vote of thanks, bringing the programme to a graceful conclusion.
