Guest Lecture on the Topic “Understanding the Concept of Lease”
A guest lecture on “Understanding the Concept of Lease” was organized for the I Year LL.B. students (LL.B II Semester) on 13/06/2026 at 12:30 p.m at BLDE (DU), School of Law, Vijayapura. The resource person for the session was Shri. S. S. Hegde, Assistant Professor, Karnataka Law Society’s, R. L. Law College, Belagavi.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the guest speaker by Mrs. Sana Kousar M, Assistant Professor, School of Law, Vijayapura who introduced the resource person and highlighted his academic contributions in the field of law.
During the session, Shri S. S. Hegde elaborated on the legal concept of lease, essential elements of a lease deed, rights and duties of lessor and lessee, types of leases, and practical issues under the Transfer of Property Act, 1882. The speaker used case examples to clarify real-world application. Students actively participated through questions on lease agreements, termination, and rent fixation. The lecture enhanced understanding of lease law beyond textbook provisions.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Sheshadri K., Assistant Professor, School of Law, Vijayapura who expressed gratitude to Shri. S. S. Hegde for sharing his expertise and guiding the students.
