Orientation Program - AHS - 2024
In the education sector, orientation introduces new entrants to their responsibilities, co-learners and institutions. Effective orientation training helps students feel more comfortable within their new roles, teams and departments while making them aware of the institution’s expectations and policies. Accordingly, the orientation program for the new entrants of the 2024 batch for AHS & BPT Courses (both UG & PG) was organized on Monday, 26th August 2024, from 10.00 am onwards in the New Anatomy Gallery hall of Shri B. M. Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre Vijayapura. The program commenced with a welcome speech by Dt. Shree Deshpande.
Followed by the welcome speech, Miss. Akanksha S. Sarawad sang the invocation song. As a mark of significance, the dignitaries on the dais graced the occasion by watering the sapling. Dr. Smitha Bagali, PG Co-ordinator FoAHS, briefed about Rules & regulations. Dr. Jyoti S. Patil, UG Co-ordinator FoAHS, informed about the AHS Curriculum. Dr. B. B. Devaranavadagi explained the Do’s & Don’ts on campus. Dr. Basavaraj Chandu briefed about Mentor – mentee system. Dr. Padmavati S. Patil briefed about the BPT Curriculum. The masters of the ceremony, Mr. Sharanya Kulkarni & Miss. Ummehani Havargi introduced the teaching staff members. The newcomers of the 2024 batch self-introduced. Miss. Akanksha S. Drawing Competition - World No Tobacco Day
On the eve of World No-Tobacco Day dated 31st May 2024, a drawing competition was organized by the Department of Cardiac Care Technology in the Anatomy Gallery hall of Shri. B. M. Patil, Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. The theme for World No-Tobacco Day 2024 is “Protecting children from tobacco industry interference”. The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle, especially among children and young adults. Mr. Akshay Hiremath was the event coordinator and fourteen students participated in the event with enthusiasm and drew beautifully conveying important messages about the importance of saying no to tobacco and embracing a healthier way of life. The judges of the competition were Dr. Jyothi Patil & Dr. Ashwini Nuchhi.

World Cerebral Palsy Day Celebration
In 2012, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance announced World Cerebral Palsy Day to be celebrated on October 6. This was done with the intention of raising awareness about the disorder and finding ways to ensure that people with cerebral palsy have equal rights, access, and opportunities as the rest of the world. Thus. the Department of Physiotherapy observed World Cerebral Palsy Day on the 6th of October 2023 at District Disability Rehabilitation Centre Shri B. M. Patil Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura.

On the eve of World Physiotherapy Day (World PT Day), to raise awareness of physiotherapy subjects and their application among the students, a free Physiotherapy camp was organized at RHTC Ukkali on 12th September 2023. The free Physiotherapy camp was held in OPD at 11 a.m. onwards.

AHS Orientation - 2023 Batch
The Inauguration ceremony of the new batch of Allied Health Science programs was organized in the Auditorium of Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, BLDE (Deemed to be University) Vijayapura, on 8th September 2023 at 10:00 am.
Dr Smitha Bagali, PG Co-ordinator AHS, welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members of all departments, and students. Along with her welcome address, she made the new entrants aware of the significance of Allied Health Sciences.

UDBHAVAM - 2K23
The cultural event UDBHAVAM PRATHAMAM 2k23 was organized from 8th June 2023 to 10th June 2023. The inaugural function was on 8th June at 9 a.m. The program began by unveiling the banner on the command of Allied Health Sciences Dean Dr. S. V. Patil at the Pathology department, the students of 2020 batch were dressed in the shade of orange color which represented fire, 2021 in blue color representing water and 2022 in green color representing nature. Dr. S. V. Patil Dean faculty of Allied Health Sciences encouraged and motivated the students with his thoughtful words and conveyed his well wishes for the event. All Allied Health Sciences faculty members were present to show their support and encouragement.

Three-day camp organized by the Dept of Physiotherapy
World Physiotherapy Day (World PT Day) is a global healthcare event celebrated on the 8th of September every year since 1996, commemorating the date of the World Physiotherapy Foundation in 1951. This day serves as a respect to all the physiotherapists and the services they render, achieving the ultimate goal of a symptom-free movement at basic to complex physical activities in patients and the healthy alike.
Thus, as a special contribution on the eve of World Physiotherapy Day, a free Physiotherapy camp was organized from 11th September 2023 to 13th September 2023.

Best Out of Waste
On the eve of World Physiotherapy Day (World PT Day), to raise awareness of physiotherapy subjects and their application among the students, the event “Best out of Waste” was organized on 9th September 2023 in the microbiology lecture hall from 4.30 p.m. onwards. Dr. Praveen Shahapur, Professor & in-charge Head of the Department of Microbiology, and Dr. Rajendran, clinician Physiotherapist judged the best performances.

On the eve of World Physiotherapy Day (World PT Day), to raise awareness of physiotherapy subjects and their application among the students, the Scientific E-Poster presentation competition was organized on 9th September 2023 in the microbiology lecture hall from 3.00 pm to 4.15 p.m. Dr. Sumangala Patil, Vice-Principal of Shri B. M. Patil Medical College and Dr. Basavaraj G. Chandu, Head of the Physiotherapy department chaired the session.

On the eve of World Physiotherapy Day (World PT Day), to raise awareness of physiotherapy subjects and their application among the students, the dumb charades event was organized in the microbiology lecture hall from 12.00 p.m. to 1.00 p.m. A total of 8 teams participated, each with two members. The judges of the vent were Dr. Gaurav P. G. and Dr. M. A. Kodachi from the physiotherapy department.

Physiotherapy Day Quiz
On the eve of World Physiotherapy Day (World PT Day), to raise awareness of physiotherapy subjects and their application among the students, a Quiz competition was organized in the microbiology lecture hall from 11.00 am to 1.00 p.m. The quiz covered the topics of Anatomy, Biomechanics, Physiology, and Electrotherapy over the course. The quiz comprised four rounds. Totally there were four teams, each team consisting of three members, altogether twelve participants. The lecturers of the Physiotherapy department Dr. Mythili G. and Dr. Mrinalini, handled the judging portion.

Physiotherapy Awareness Skit
On the eve of World Physiotherapy Day (World PT Day), to raise awareness of physiotherapy among the general public and patients, the Physiotherapy students performed a skit at the entrance lobby of Shri B. M. Patil Hospital. The skit was conducted on 9th September 2023 from 9.45 a.m. to 10.45 a.m. and was concluded by a pledge. Skit covered the role of physiotherapy in different medical specialties like Road traffic accidents, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Neurology, Cardiorespiratory, OBG, and Industrial / Ergonomics.

Guest Lecture - World Physiotherapy Day

World Heart Day
On the eve of World Heart Day, to raise awareness of Healthy hearts among the general public and patients, a cardiology free health camp was organized on 29th September 2023 at Shri B. M. Patil Super Specialty Hospital.
The camp began with watering the plant by Dr. Vijayakumar Kalyanappagol Medical Director, and cardiologists Dr. Sanjeev Sajjannavar, Dr, Madiwal Swami Dhavalagimath, Dr. Shrusti Vallad, Dr. Ravi Ghatanatti. As a token of welcome gesture, the cardiologists were presented bouquets and the camp took off. Gross health investigations were done that included an Electrocardiography test, Echocardiography test, Tread Mill Test, Blood tests, and many more. More than 75 patients benefited from this camp.

GUEST LECTURE - PHYSIOTHERAPY
In view of National Cancer Prevention Month & rare disease day, the Guest lecture was conducted by the Department of Physiotherapy, BLDE(DU) on 28th February 2023 under the guidance of the Dean, Faculty of AHS, BLDE(DU) in Anatomy Gallery hall, BLDE(DU) Shri B. M. Patil Medical college hospital & Research Centre, Vijayapura.

MILLETS: FUEL FOR THE FUTURE
- The workshop was organized with four Guest Lectures in the First Half Session followed by the hands-on Snacks competition arranged for Allied Health Science students on “Millets Magic in Snackibles” in the second half session. The workshop was inaugurated at 10.30 am by our guests and Dean Faculty, Allied Health Sciences, and UG Co-ordinator Dr. B. S. Patil by watering the plant. Our beloved Dean, Dr. S. V. Patil, addressed the gathering. He welcomed our chief guest and speakers on behalf of the Allied Health Sciences, BLDE (DU). He also spoke about the role of millets in old age and the importance of creating awareness among today’s generation regarding millets. The guests for the workshop were Smt. Anita Dolli, Dr. Tanuja Pattankar, Dr. Rashmi Hullalli and Dt. Shree Deshpande. All guest speakers shared their valuable knowledge on Millets and their history, their health benefits, the role of millets in preventing diseases and disorders, the role of millets in cooking, and how they can be included in daily diet.
