As a part of practical legal education and experiential learning, the students of LL.B. IV Semester, BLDE (Deemed to be University) School of Law, Vijayapura, visited the Police Station on 27th June 2026 at 12:30 PM.
A total of 44 students participated in the visit under the guidance of Mr. Sheshadri K., Assistant Professor, School of Law, Vijayapura. The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of the police department and the criminal justice system.
During the visit, Mr. Mahesh Sank, Police Sub-Inspector (Law and Order), explained the organizational structure of the police station, the procedure for registration of First Information Reports (FIRs), maintenance of station records, investigation of criminal cases, preventive policing, and the responsibilities of various police officers. The students also learned about the use of modern technology in policing, public grievance redressal, cybercrime awareness, and community policing initiatives.
The interaction enabled the students to understand the practical aspects of criminal law and police administration, complementing the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom. The students actively interacted with the police officials and clarified their doubts regarding police procedures, investigation, and legal provisions. At the end of the lecture we honoured the PSI by presenting BLDE (DU) Memento.
The visit proved to be highly informative and beneficial. It enhanced the students’ understanding of the functioning of law enforcement agencies and strengthened their appreciation of the role of the police in maintaining law and order and ensuring justice.
