Guest Lecture on the Topic “Concept of Marine Insurance”
A guest lecture on “Concept of Marine Insurance” was organized for the II Year LL.B. students (LL.B IV Semester) on 13/06/2026 at 10:00 a.m at BLDE (DU), School of Law, Vijayapura. The resource person for the session was Shri. S. S. Hegde, Assistant Professor, Karnataka Law Society’s, R. L. Law College, Belagavi.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the guest speaker by Dr. Jai Santoshima, Assistant Professor, School of Law, Vijayapura who introduced the resource person and highlighted his academic contributions in the field of law.
During the session, Shri S. S. Hegde elaborated on the provisions of the Marine Insurance Act, 1963 and explained the various kinds of marine insurance. He also discussed the formation of marine insurance policies and the different perils and risks covered under marine insurance. The lecture provided valuable insights into the practical and legal aspects of marine insurance and enhanced the understanding of the students regarding commercial and insurance laws.
The session was highly informative and interactive, and the students actively participated by raising queries and engaging in discussions with the resource person.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. Lavanya Kulkarni., Assistant Professor, School of Law, Vijayapura who expressed gratitude to Shri. S. S. Hegde for sharing his expertise and guiding the students.
