The Central Library of Shri. B. M. Patil Medical College was established in the year 1986. The primary mission of the library is to support teaching-learning and research programs.

The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for the faculty and the university students and serve as a resource center for health science information. The library’s primary clientele is the institution’s students, faculty, and staff. To provide ready references at the workplace, 25 departmental libraries have been established.

The library serves as a gateway to electronic and print biomedical information, assisting the faculty and students in achieving their missions and goals in the education of health professionals, advancement of knowledge through research, and delivery of both quality health care and excellent community service. The library supports a problem-based learning curriculum, evidence-based patient care, and rigorous research. The library seeks to deliver data, information, and knowledge to local and remote users through state-of-the-art technologies.
