Professor M.S. Biradar was the Former Vice Chancellor of BLDE (Deemed to be University), Vijayapura, Karnataka. He did his MD with Gold Medal in General Medicine and entirely devoted himself for medical teaching, research and administrations. Prof. Biradar’s iconic stature as teacher and physician makes him a role model and authority in any discipline of medical sciences. Prof.Biradar’s greatest contribution in the field of medicine is to bring a dynamic purposeful, meaningful and object-oriented medical sciences program including physiological sciences that rediscovered the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral medical curriculum under the University. His expertise in the area of medical education redefines the teaching in medicine as equality and diversity, work-based learning mainly from bench to bed side, concept of high impact basic science research and its application into clinical medicine. He has also immensely contributed in the area of medical research ethics and practices through his numerous publications including books and book chapters. For his immense contribution in the field of Medical administration, The Physiological Society of India confers him ‘Prof.K.Raghottam Rao Oration 2016”. Currently Professor Biradar is a Visiting Professor at Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, USA.
